Nestled in the Amazonian Andes of northern Peru, the El Palto cooperative began in 2003 with just 35 small farmers. Today, the group, formally known as Asociacion de Productores Cafetaleros Juan Marco El Palto (JUMARP), has grown to 189 members who cultivate 550 hectares of Organic and Fair Trade Certified coffee. The cooperative is committed to inclusivity, with 40 women members who are represented on the Board of Directors.
